For the 2018 season, the Granby Zoo introduced the #DinoTechno experience. Three new digital components enrich the thematic DinoZoo journey.

The DinoZoo app invites visitors to take part in a real-world adventure. Players become paleontologists collecting dinosaur eggs geolocated throughout the zoo grounds, which they later hatch in a virtual incubator.

The DinoTransfo installation is an interactive mirror that transforms each player into a dinosaur for a photo moment. The user steps into a booth that analyzes their personality and transforms them! The mirror then displays a 3D dinosaur that matches their personality. Motion capture technology animates the dinosaur in real time based on the participant’s movements — the effect is striking.

The interactive DinoZoo table features multimedia content that demystifies the extinction of dinosaurs, prehistoric geography, and various species across different eras. The table’s touch surface allows users to explore all the content in an ergonomic and engaging way.
