The Centre de presse team at Radio-Canada sought to redesign its public and private web platforms, as well as its content management tool. The mandate included the following points:

  • Creation of a new architecture to integrate into a single destination: the private offering, the public offering, and the VIP viewing option.
  • A new CMS that is more user-friendly and easier to operate for content managers; along with a new capabilities to view videos and images.
  • A migration of the Centre de presse and its components to a new cloud infrastructure.
  • An intricate migration of archives, and complex legacy media files from the previous highly customized system. The archives were carried over into the new version of the site to preserve their integrity, while visually enhancing their presentation.
  • Implementation of a long-term support and continuous improvement plan, which has been ongoing since the platform’s launch.

Since its launch, the Media Centre has effectively met Radio-Canada’s communication needs. The team using it daily has fully embraced the tools at its disposal. As a result, quality content is reliably and ergonomically distributed to the public and media members.
